Michigan Cancer Dashboard: Ovarian Cancer in Michigan

The Michigan Cancer Epidemiology staff has developed this interactive dashboard to provide information about Michigan’s ovarian cancer burden. Data are displayed in charts, tables and/or maps and cover the years 2000 through 2022. The data within this dashboard are divided into three main sections:

  • Overian cancer burden within Michigan overall (how much ovarian cancer is occurring within Michigan, specifically, ovarian cancer incidence rate [the rate of newly diagnosed ovarian cancers within Michigan] and ovarian cancer mortality rate [the rate of deaths within Michigan due to ovarian cancer]);
  • Ovarian cancer burden within Michigan by age (the percentage of new ovarian cancer cases or ovarian cancer deaths occurring at younger ages, and ovarian cancer incidence and mortality rates by age groups); and
  • Detection of ovarian cancer within Michigan, (the stage at which ovarian cancers are being diagnosed within Michigan, indicating how advanced ovarian cancers are when first diagnosed).

In addition, this dashboard also provides a discussion of the data used for these indicators, as well as general information about ovarian cancer and links to additional resources for those who would like to know more about this type of cancer.
