APIC Infection Prevention Courses
LONG-TERM CARE INFECTION PREVENTIONIST ESSENTIALS
In partnership with the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), MDHHS is offering complimentary Long-Term Care Infection Preventionist (LTC IP) Essentials Trainings. Training attendees will also receive a free one-year APIC Membership; existing members will receive a one-year extension.
Managing infection prevention and control (IPC) in long-term care settings presents a unique set of challenges and issues. This training provides the foundation of the role of the infection preventionist (IP) and the practice of being an effective IP in a long-term care setting, including creating and managing successful IPC programs and mitigating risk at your facility. This training also covers CMS required topics.
To earn the LTC IP Essentials Certificate of Completion and available CNE credits, participants must complete all training components.
- 2.5 - days of live (virtual or in-person) training led by experienced instructors. Contact hours awarded for attendance and completion of evaluation.
- Online modules with knowledge checks and a final exam to reinforce learning.
