Hooked on Fish: Recipes from the Great Lakes State
The MDHHS Division of Environmental Health has created a cookbook of favorite fish recipes from Michigan residents.
The cookbook, Hooked on Fish: Recipes from the Great Lakes State, features some of Michigan's favorite fish recipes, information about the health benefits of eating fish, as well as shows you how to avoid some of the chemicals found in some fish through trimming and cooking.
Download the cookbook now! Each recipe is presented in a 4x6 format so you can print, clip and save it in your recipe box at home.
Use the Eat Safe Fish Guide to find the best fish for you and your family.
Fish make very healthy meals and are low in fat, but some have too many chemicals in them to be considered safe to eat.
The Eat Safe Fish Guides can help you choose fish that are lower in chemicals and safer for the whole family to eat, and the Hooked on Fish: Recipes from the Great Lakes State cookbook will give you ideas for preparing the fish you select!
The Eat Safe Fish Guides and other information about eating fish can be found at www.michigan.gov/eatsafefish.
To figure out which fish can be caught in Michigan, use the DNR Guide at www.michigan.gov/fishid.
