CSHCS INFO #2-2018 - MI-LEND 2018-2019 Cohort #3 Recruitment Flyers
Wed 1/17/2018 6:00 PM
Hello,
I am forwarding an opportunity to be part of the next Michigan Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (MI-LEND) Cohort.
MI-LEND is an interdisciplinary leadership training program, funded under the Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education, and Support (CARES) Act, and administered by the Health Resources and Service's Administration's (HRSA) Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB). The MI-LEND program trains emerging leaders with the goal of improving the health of infants, children, and adolescents with or at risk for neurodevelopmental disabilities and other special health care needs. The MI-LEND Program is a two-semester training program that emphasizes developing family-centered, culturally competent interdisciplinary leadership skills.
LEND trainees must have completed their undergraduate degree and be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program in the Maternal Child Health professions (audiology, dentistry, genetic counseling, health administration, medicine, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, social work, special education, speech-language pathology) at one of the associated universities.
Self-advocates and family members of children with disabilities and other special health care needs are encouraged to apply and be a trainee associated with the Family Center.
Please see the attachments and email below for more information.
Regards,
Candi
