Drug Disposal
Do your part by safely disposing of unused drugs.
COPY: The best way to dispose of most types of unused medication, including opioids, is to drop them off at a drug take-back site. DO NOT throw prescription medications in the trash or flush them down the toilet or sink. This can pollute the soil and water and make opioids accessible to others for possible misuse.
You can find a take-back site near you by using the interactive map provided by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE).
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) also has an annual event, National Take-Back Day, to encourage Americans to properly dispose of prescription drugs.
