CAHC Program
CHILD AND ADOLESCENT HEALTH CENTER (CAHC) CLINICAL MODEL
Child and Adolescent Health Centers promote the health of children, adolescents and their families by providing important primary, preventive, and early intervention health care services. These health centers provide a range of services including, but not limited to, primary care, preventive care, comprehensive health assessment, immunizations, treatment of acute illness, co-management of chronic illness, health education and mental health services. These integrated primary care and mental health centers serve youth and adolescents ages 3-21 in schools or on school property (school-based health centers) or near schools with strong ties to those nearby schools (school-linked health centers). Refer to the Minimum Program Requirements for specific details and services required.
*By state law, no contraceptives are prescribed, dispensed, or distributed in CAHC Programs; and abortion counseling, services and/or referrals are not allowed in any CAHC.
