LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Population Health Administration has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to provide tobacco reduction and prevention services.
Eligible applicants include government and educational organizations, medical clinics and nonprofits that provide awareness about the commercial tobacco problem in Michigan and facilitate policy work that reduces the burden of commercial tobacco on Michigan residents. Local health departments will have a future opportunity to apply for funds and are not eligible to apply for this RFP.
MDHHS expects to award up to 13 grants totaling $676,000 under this grant program. The grants will begin in October 2018 and are expected to last for three years. Funds are intended to assist community members to quit using tobacco; prevent youth from starting to use tobacco; and create policies, systems and environmental changes that protect people from secondhand smoke.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the MI E-Grants program by June 29 at 3 p.m.
For more information or to apply, visit the MI E-Grants website and select "About EGrAMS" link in the left panel to access the "Competitive Application Instructions" training manual.
