Where do you work, and how long have you worked there?
"I work at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital. I have been employed since my graduation from Project Search in May 2023."
What parts of your job do you enjoy the most?
"My favorite parts of my job are working with my team members, seeing friendly faces, and helping others."
Can you share a moment when you felt proud of your contributions at work?
"I feel proud whenever I help the Long-Term Care patients get their meals and put away their trays. I also put together box lunches for a special golf tournament."
Can you describe how your employment has improved your life outside of work?
"I earn additional money that I can use to buy things. I have made friends at work. Being employed has made me more independent."
What advice would you give to people with disabilities looking for a job in their community?
"Try your best! There are many opportunities out there and different ways for you to get involved. Many services are offered to help you in your job search. Don't give up."
What advice would you give to employers wanting to hire people with disabilities?
"We have many things that we can offer employers. We may do things differently, but we have skills that can be a benefit to them."
